Spiny Oyster Turquoise (SOT) is made from turquoise and shells compressed together and stabilized with resin. Each stone is different in color and pattern, colors vary from blues and pinks to oranges, reds and coppers. Stones measure 1/2 inch wide by 3/4 inch long.
 
SOT should be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and oils. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh cleaners, as they can scratch or damage the inlay. Avoid soaking in water, cleaning solutions, or ultrasonic cleaners. Store items separately in a padded jewelry box or pouch to prevent scratching and protect it from moisture. Store away from direct sunlight and extreme heat or cold.
